A once-in-a-lifetime experience in Genoa, Italy shaped this project from start to finish. Taking inspiration from the cranes of the city harbor, the suspended catwalks not only act as a visual assistance to the crane structure but serve as a vertical walkway to view the artwork. Hanging from the crane structure is the centerpiece of the exhibition. The walkways wrap around this centerpiece, allowing for a 360-degree viewing experience. A break in the roof line not only adds visual interest, but allows for views of nearby landmarks when inside . This is my most comprehensive project that pays homage to a place I called home.
Protection from the sun and its effects plays a vital role for any piece of architecture, especially when in the tropics. Designing around this need led to numerous iterations of the traditional gable roof, until shade, heat control, and privacy were all factored into the shape and placement of the roof. The roof is designed to work with trees to create a combination of natural and manmade shade. Connection to the outdoors is key to the design and enjoying the environment. The original and new floor now open up to the world with large folding doors, creating true indoor-outdoor living. The kitchens are a key portion of this space, and can vent heat into the outdoors instead of the home. Finally, spaces are created behind each set of homes that act as public meeting spaces for kids, adults, friends, and families.
From Logos, posters, and branding, you name it I’ve explored it. In the next two pages, I’ll show some of my early work with logos as well as a passion project with posters. Back in 2020, I produced a small batch of automotive posters, and since then I’ve been lucky to sell thousands of these posters online. I’ve added a few of my favorites below, Enjoy!
What started as a typical summer internship quickly became a life-altering experience. I was fortunate enough to be involved in an incredible internship with Summerour Architects as we built an arched bridge step by step. From helping lay out the bridge’s exact position to laying bricks against the wooden frame, I was exposed to many real-world problems and solutions.
Intermission is a mid-rise located in the big apple. From the start, the goal was to create a building that allowed for convenient breaks throughout the day. From that idea, A grid system was formed, followed by floor plates, and finally a facade. This grid system allowed us to strategically place zones for relaxtion next to zones for work. This created a space we hoped would encourge breaks to allow for an optimal work day.
With the housing crisis in major cities like Los Angeles only getting worse, it is vital that we create new solutions to affordable housing that people want to call home. One possible solution is 3d printing with concrete. This new technology not only saves on material and manpower but allows for otherwise expensive designs to be printed with ease.
